You simply select from a list of pre-defined alerts (If Available) or from a list of custom alerts that will be created to meet your specific business needs.
Info-Alert can connect to most ODBC compliant databases such as SQL, Oracle, MS Access, Excel, Foxpro, etc. Some ERP systems already have a set of pre-defined alerts created for use with Info-Alert. (Please check with your software consultant to see if this is available for you).
If pre-defined alerts are not currently available for your accounting software the optional "Info-Alert Tool Kit" can be used to connect to your data and create custom alerts.
Various software publishers have created a set of pre-defined alerts to work with their software. Please contact your software consultant to see if one is available for you. When available, you can simply select from any of the common alerts already defined, assign criteria specific to your needs then identify who should receive the alerts.
Using the optional "Tool Kit" will allow you to create new alerts for your business. Knowledge of your business data along with some technical knowledge required to create SQL commands will be required. If you do not have the Info-Alert Tool Kit you can have your Info-Alert dealer create new alerts which can be imported into your alert manager for you to configure and activate.
Other than our current accounting software many of us have other databases in our office that are used consistently. These may be used for delivery schedules, customer contracts, production tracking, etc. Most Microsoft or ODBC compliant databases can easily be connected to by ICS or your dealer for Info-Alert to generate alerts based on your company specific data.
